The IMATIS Fundamentum platform revolutionizes the way applications, template or custom application configurations, apps and widgets are installed on the fly to the dynamic work space on the computer, tablet or smartphone. The solutions can run from the cloud, a private Cloud or installed in a local data center. The cloud platform enables application innovation, unlocking insights from any data and adding increased mobility and information sharing on mobile devices. The solution empowers both patients, , clinicians, support services, clinical researchers, care teams and management staff with the bespoke tools they need. The technology platform used for Cloud is based on Micrsoft Azure. We can also deliver hybride solution where parts of applications runs in cloud on other part in the internal data center.
The IMATIS Portal is secure, supports HTTPS and single sign-on (SSO) with a dynamic, role-based interface. The portal supports context sharing between applications and systems, is highly flexible, modern and designed according to modern web standards, as well on smart phones. It is available using nearly any device, either using a modern web browser or as a native app on devices with iOS, Windows Mobile and Android.
IMATIS applications, apps and widgets share information across devices, for example during arrival registration using IMATIS Porta. When the patient checks in using the self-service kiosk, the treating clinician may receive a notification on their Apple watch or smartphone. Simultaneously, the ward whiteboard updates the patient status to arrived. Delays can similarly be shared through the system, with the clinician entering an approximation of delay on their device, which is shared with the ward whiteboard and waiting area displays or signage monitors or sent by text message to to affected patients' cellphones.
With nurse call system integrations to an IMATIS Visi Nurse station whiteboard, responsible nurses receive nurse call notifications directly to their smartphones. Notification forwarding is based on rules configured in the platform, calculated based on location, logged in users in responsible roles, responsibilities for specific patients or rooms and the presence status of each nurse. These are only a few examples of the benefit that can be achieved with the amazingly versatile IMATIS Fundamentum platform.
Other IMATIS modules depend on the orchestration and messaging framework delivered by the IMATIS Fundamentum platform. Cloud ready platform
IMATIS Fundamentum is a platform for innovation and a game changing concept for healthcare to incorporate best practice use of modern user applications, apps and widgets. This includes touch-operated whiteboards, workstations, tablets, smartphones, wearable devices, room management displays, self-check-in kiosks and more as well as a set of server-side services and modules.
IMATIS Fundamentum Platform Modules
Most integration engines in healthcare focus on the integration of data from several data sources. IMATIS Fundamentum goes beyond that by additionally integrate data and workflow and deliver it to the desktop of any device. Services can be 100% automated by machine learning and machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. Classical data integration uses HL7, FIHR or Resful WebServices for retrieving data from specialist systems (PACS/RIS, lab etc.) into the electronic health records. With IMATIS Fundamentum Portal and Integration Engine, all systems can be combined, integrated and delivered into one powerful user interface. This is the only tool that focuses on work flows, giving staff the option of using the one, single user interface, independent of the underlying heavyweight IT systems. Data is opened in context, and the application can access, enter and update data
The IMATIS Fundamentum Integration engine is not only a platform for clinical application integration but also provides the capability for pervasive technology integration. Most of our customers also integrate the phone system, facility management, elevators, nurse call, sensors, duress alarms, meal order management system, robots, pneumatic tubes, automated guided vehicles, light control, building management system, RTLS, fire alarms etc. all into the same platform.
The whiteboard server contains all generic functionality needed for IMATIS Visi and IMATIS Porta system implementations and solutions, as well as several Mobilix applications. The technology works behind the scenes and provides server-side functionality for a lot of the apps and widgets.
The platform for video on-demand, TV and radio distribution and streaming. Some key elements are obtained on an OEM-basis from partners. The media server can also fetch content from YouTube and other content management partners. The multimedia server is used by the IMATIS Ludus Patient entertainment solution and IMATIS Porta Signage solutions.
IMATIS Fundamentum includes out of box adapters for RFID and ultrasound tags from Stanley (formerly AeroScout), Cisco and Sonitor. The middleware can combine sensors and devices from several vendors in one solution, including real-time location services (RTLS) and GPS for outdoor positioning.
SmartTracker Location Based Services (RTLS)
The data engine and historian DB are used as the gateway, storage and service for nurse call signals, Internet of Things and sensors. The platform can be used for storing real-time secondary data from medical devices (alarms, sensors and integrated devices). The platform supports OPC, Modbus, BacNet, FIHR, Profibus, HART, Fieldbus Foundation, SIP, SCAIP and custom templates in LabVIEW and .Net. The platform is also in use in oil and gas, serving as a platform for more than 100.000 sensors, alarms and devices of waveform data in a distributed infrastructure. The data engine stores and broadcasts digital and analogue nurse call and safety alarms to door displays, smartphones, IP phones and whiteboard applications, including the call center solution.
DataEngine and Historian DB
The IMATIS Fundamentum TURN and STUN is used to support use of telehealth, video and voice between firewalls. The package used from a third party is based on the Linux platform and it is not a part of the Imatis product but is needed to do Video and Voice over firewalls, if no alternative solutions is installed in the customer environment. The service is used by the face-to-face communication functionality embedded in the Imatis solutions. The face-to-face communication functonality is based on a WebRTC and ORTC implementation in the IMATIS Fundamentum Portal. It work when the user uses a modern web browser ans Firefox, Chrome, Opera or Edge for hosting Fundamentum Portal.
VoIP / Video (TURN & STUN Service)
IMATIS Fundamentum HL7 CCOW is used to support context sharing between web applications and thick clients used in the Portal and Visi applications. The thecnology in primary used when third party application is co-existing with Imatis applications in the portal.

The IMATIS Apps Module - Apps and Widgets for Healthcare
IMATIS Apps is a module built into the web portal for easy access to additional applications, apps and documentation as sharing with other users. Users with sufficient privileges may install new applications, apps and widgets directly from the Apps module into the organizational structure of the portal. Customers can add their own content to the Apps module, for example whiteboard templates or configurations of apps and widgets to be deployed to other units or departments, or even for other customers to review and install.
The IMATIS Apps module contains apps for delivering and managing patient care, entertainment, support services, housekeeping, duress alerts, nurse call notifications, differentiated service calls, vital sign capture, clinical pathways, collaborative checklists and much, much more.
Direct Communication and Telehealth
The IMATIS Portal has a wide range of features, including communication options for different scenarios and user groups.
· Embedded telehealth video conference: Up to four different users or locations can be linked up to one
conference, saving on time spent travelling and coordinating schedules and making ad hoc meetings easier.
· Call center solutions: Video and voice conferencing in emergency or monitoring call centers.
· Queue management systems: Microbooking and rescheduling patients from a central reception to the
booking or administrative staff at each ward is easier with communication options built into the QMS interface.
· Remote interpretation: Central and shared interpretation resources or remotely based interpretators of
rarely used language pairs can be linked into consults or meetings when physical presence is of lesser importance.
· Signage integration: Communication with other wards or central resources through door or bed displays,
requesting assistance or a specific piece of equipment, rather than walking there and back again.
· Multidisciplinary team meetings: Linking in outside expertise during multidisciplinary meetings.
Outside resources can be invited into one particular meeting, for example when the expertise is located time
zones away from the actual meeting.
· Patient involvement: Using the IMATIS Ludus Patient portal or other apps, remotely monitored patients,
recently discharged or chronic patient groups may be checked up on using video chats, including
low-level safety alerts, requests or digital safety alarms.
Several of our customers use an IMATIS call center solution for remote monitoring of patients in home care, for dementia and chronic patients. The solution allows the patients to stay at home longer and frees up resources at the hospital or in home care. The solution is extremely flexible and is adapted to each customer's needs by means of configuration, without the need for software development expertise. When adapting the software to each customer, terminology and established processes are built right into the applications, making the transition to a new system easier and giving the users an ownership of the finished system.
The video communication service simplifies collaboration with colleagues on other wards or in other cities. Video conferences are set up directly from the web portal, inviting in external resources for single sessions. The Imatis platform is ideal for care team collaboration and teamwork across distances. Additionally, video conferences are used to communicate with patients in their own homes via secure, redundant broadband networks. These are patients who require follow-up by medical personnel, but who are otherwise well enough to stay at home. The patient uses a tablet to communicate with nurses or doctors. The same device may collect data from medical devices and return to the hospital, where the personnel can make informed decisions for the continued care of the patient. Imatis telehealth solution is build on WebRTC and Microsoft ORTC technology (the technology Microsfot now use for Skype for business when it operats from the web browser, and it is embedded in the portal for use in combination of any application. Web RTC is now one of the recomended video and vioce communiation standards by the Norwegian e-healt directorat for welfare.
Cisco Imatis Mobile Care is a Cisco Validated design solution that can be viewed as an extension to the Cisco Unified Communications system that currently supports hospital and municipality environments. This solution also addresses the important requirement to upgrade a hospital’s legacy communication systems. In other cases, Cisco Imatis Mobile Care might be an adjunct to the hospital’s legacy communication system. In all these cases, the underlying architecture leverages Cisco network designs for places in the network (PINs), such as the campus network or a wireless infrastructure to support voice. Key technologies that bring these new services to the hospital include Cisco Unified Communication, Cisco Unified Wireless Network, and Secure Mobility. Cisco’s partner Imatis provides the gateway to hospital systems and Nurse Call systems and facilitates the delivery of critical information to mobile handsets.
