IMATIS Visi - Pathways
MATIS Visi - Pathways is a generic tool for developing and configuring standard pathways or workflow. It allows the user to configure workflow without the need for expert support or programming. Imatis started to develop the tools in close cooperation with Region Zealand in Denmark and Oslo Municipality in Norway.
The Pathway tool also supports running several pathways in parallel. After the Go-Live of the product, and as the users have mastered the application, they have created workflow packages for a lot of other topics as well.
Goals for standardized pathways
One of the main purposes of standardization of pathways is for the patient to experience a well organized, coherent and predictable path without unnecessary non-medically justified delays in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. IMATIS Visi Pathways provide predictability and security for patients and their families by ensuring information availability and inuitive user interaction. The tool can manage several pathways running, either by merging them or let them run in parallel. The pathway tools from imatis can be used to share data between hospital and general doctor as well as share data on the patient App.
Clinical Pathways benefit

An important measure in clinical pathways is the role of a treatment coordinator that investigate and treat cancer. A treatment coordinator can be contacted by both patients and GPs. A treatment coordinator is responsible for coordinating the pathway process, including scheduling of appointments and other resources, as well as being the hospital liaison with the patient and the GP.
Imatis has under development various patient engagement Apps. These Apps allow the patient to be better informed in real time and to track their own treatment plan and cancer pathway. The Apps will also have links to background information and there will be a possibility to share information bidirectional with the clinical staff and the treatment coordinator. This is one of the benefits patients are asking for.
